Planning a unique, vintage-styled wedding reception for 90 guests is a huge undertaking. Luckily this was Becks’ VERY OWN WEDDING! and the G&T styling team were on-hand to oversee every aspect, from set up to sundown.
Becks wanted her very own wedding to have a vintage twist.
To help give the event the look and feel of an English village fete, G&T’s wedding stylist Becks and team put together initial mood boards, then went on to plan and style the whole shebang.
The wedding styling mood boards were used to help define the colours and kind of objects and fabrics we would use. From here we were able to plan the wedding reception in detail, deciding how to achieve the look within the budget allocated.
On the day itself, we laid every table with mismatched vintage crockery and set up wooden village fete style chairs around them. We then hung an eclectic selection of quirky lampshades from the ceiling, adding texture, colour and depth to the setting.
The table centres were laid with glass decanters on a glass cake stands which contained a single peony flower. Vintage buttons were then scattered across the table cloths.
We put the table plan on a vintage chest, with the names of guests on one side and polaroids of the hen and stag do on the other. Specially commissioned union jack prints with song lyrics on meanwhile, were suspended around the perimeter of the space as a unique form of bunting.
Outside the marquee, we set up a photo backdrop with vintage style fabric backing and an array of props. The guests were encouraged to take photos of themselves with a polaroid camera left expressly for the purpose, and then hang the results from ribbons around the marquee.
