G&T checks out the latest from interior fashion geniuses Pedlars

I LOVE Pedlars. The Englishness. The quality of the products. The sense of whimsy and the unashamed rustic feel and finish of many of their key pieces.

Having a peep in their latest product catalogue is a great measure of the kind of vintage-styled products that I’ll be able to find new. This is very helpful when I’m involved in a vintage-inspired set dressing project and might find it tricky to source a genuine vintage piece on good condition.

G&T event stylists drool over Midcentury Modern

The Modern Shows at Dulwich College are always ace. And this November’s Midcentury Modern is shaping up to be totally mouthwatering for anyone as polka dotty about mid-20^th century design as we are.

The show, which takes place on Sunday 20^th November, will see the 60s Christison-designed refectory and the North and South Cloisters at Dulwich College turned into a veritable sweet shop of beautiful design.

There will be a wealth of mid-20^th century furniture, ceramics, fabrics, art and glassware available, with plenty of affordable pieces on offer to anyone wishing to pick up a piece of recent European and American retro.

Stuff to look out for includes some great examples of the 1960s egg chair, classic ercol and rare Catherineholm cookware. Yippeee!

See the street where you grew up in an Arcade Fire video!

What a brilliant idea. A tool that lets you personalise a music video to include footage of something which is sentimentally important to you. And what could evoke more memories (good and bad) than images of the street where you grew up! Real and proper!

The tool, which is here http://thewildernessdowntown.com lets you type in your old address and then uses google maps to pull in images of your street! Your old best friend’s house… the caravan outside number five… the shop where you once stole some sweets… and the scrubby bit of ground where you had your first kiss…

The video is also amazing as it runs from different pop-up windows showing simultaneous action. It’s all done in HTML 5 which is weird and cool for a video too. Although the app’s been live for a while now, it’s recently been updated and is much more fun.

Oh, and once you’ve watched your video, you can create a postcard to send to the former you using a stylised drawing tool. Another beautiful idea!

G&T secures new city centre roost

Happy times are upon us as G&T spreads its wings and lands with ruffle of plumage in a lovely new nesting box in Leeds city centre.

Our new offices are just a hop, skip and a jump away from Leeds train station and are nestled within a fabulously quirky former mill.

While we’ve got tons of work to do to get the place to reflect our passion for interior styling, there are loads of brilliant features to work with, including original floorboards and classic cast iron radiators.

We promise to provide more photos of our new nest as the interior styling team work their magic.
